They're compressed pretty hard - the lunch photo serves to protect everyone's identity in little squares ;) Understandable though, just about all of Africa is Bandwidth limited.
We tried to get an "unlimited" wireless data plan for research in E. Africa. We got the largest plan, 2GB/month (prepaid) and were told we would be hard pressed to use it all - the network just doesn't have the speed. To be fair, the network had some great coverage :p
